The holiday home on the Moncader
The beautiful Moncader Farm in Combai di Miane (Treviso) houses Casa “Ai Castagni”: a completely renovated farmhouse, transformed into a cosy holiday home with ancient charm. The farmhouse is nestled in the greenery of the Treviso/Belluno Prealps, between Monte Cimon and the Moncader. In this territory, which is rich in art, history and nature, among precious vineyards and large chestnut trees – which until the 1950s ensured the livelihood of the population – man has combined a love for the land with a passion for wine.
In this context, Casa “Ai Castagni” is a beautiful building immersed in nature, with four comfortable beds and all the necessary comforts: WiFi, satellite antenna, indoor fireplace and outdoor barbecue, and a panorama to take your breath away – all in total harmony with nature.
Among the Prosecco hills
Nature welcomes and shelters the guests of Casa “Ai Castagni”, so-called for the predominant presence of chestnut trees. In fact, the northern Veneto between Treviso and Belluno is dominated by hilly and mountainous slopes which are home to 90% of the region’s forests. Combai and Miane, in particular, are famous for producing chestnuts, with a sugary, crunchy pulp, and wine. This is where the traditional Chestnut Festival and the Prosecco Spring take place.
Plan a walk through the large grey-brown trees, shiny and smooth, with their beautiful oblong leaves. Choose your horse and trot along a long riding trail between Col San Martino and Valdobbiadene, Miane, Vittorio Veneto and Farra di Soligo. Or ride your steel horse on a long, exciting cycle route.
